| Can
you please introduce yourself and your role
at ATI |
|
I'm John Swinimer the public
relations manager for consumer products
at ATI Technologies Inc.
|
| Have
the details for the GPU been agreed upon with
Microsoft or are you still in discussion?
|
ATI has entered into an agreement with Microsoft
to provide future Xbox technologies and services.
No other details are available at this time.
|
| Some
third parties are saying that we may not see
the next Xbox as late as early 2006. What
are your thoughts on this? |
While ATI is committed to providing high
quality future Xbox technologies and services
for Microsoft, you will need to contact Microsoft
directly about the timing of their delivery
of the gaming system.
|
| It
is obviously a great thing to be working with
2 (Microsoft and Nintendo) of the 3 leading
videogame console manufacturers. Are there
any down sides working with several rather
than just concentrating on just one of these
companies? |
ATI is proud to be working with two very
impressive leaders in the consumer electronics
markets. ATI has many customers in other areas
of the graphics industry: desktop graphics,
handheld graphics, mobile and integrated graphics,
and consumer graphics. Having many customers
is typical for business at ATI.
|
| What
are your thoughts on the "Cell" chip that
Sony would like to have in PS3? |
It would not be appropriate for ATI to comment
on another company's product.
|
| Team
Xbox recently posted this article: http://teamxbox.com/news.php?id=4811.
Can you comment on this? |
ATI does not comment on rumors.
|
| When
will we probably hear about the specifications
of the Xbox 2 chip? |
This question should be directed to Microsoft.
|
| Are
there any rumors that you would like to put
to rest? |
Again, ATI does not comment on rumors.
|
| Thank
you for taking the time to answer some questions.
|
While you can gather from my answers that
it's too early to talk about specifics, it
is my hope the over the coming months more
details will be forthcoming.
